Q: How long does the mortgage/remortgage process take and how much will I be involved ?
The process depends on how quickly we respond to the lenders and solicitor's requirements and we believe in acting promptly. Sometimes this may require us to ask you for some information but we will do this as soon as we become aware of the requirement.
We will do everything we can to minimise inconvenience to you and to ensure that the transaction is completed at a timescale to suit you.
Q: What does your fee include ?
- We will assign a point of contact at PFS Limited to guide you through the whole process.
- We will collect full details about your circumstances and objectives (fact find) about your mortgage and related protection needs.
- We will search the marketplace for a suitable mortgage product and from a range of insurers to meet your related insurance requirements.
- We will telephone you to discuss the recommendation in full.
- We will provide a copy of the research, which demonstrates why we have chosen this product.
- We will provide full details of the product in writing to you.
- We will complete the application forms with you, ask you for any documents the lender may require and submit the application speedily.
- We will liaise with your chosen solicitor and complete any of their requirements.
- We will write to your current lender (if applicable), with your authority, to obtain an accurate mortgage balance and details of any current early repayment charges.
- We will keep you updated on a regular basis and will chase the lender and solicitor if we feel an unacceptable delay has occurred with your application.
- We will check the mortgage offer is accurate and will set a completion date with the solicitor within your agreed timescale.
- If you ask us to, we will continue to liaise with you and the solicitor to ensure that completion takes place on the agreed date or inform you of any necessary delay.
- We will confirm to you in writing that your mortgage has completed.
- We will put you in a review system to contact you at an agreed interval in the future to offer you another mortgage review.
